Dear Montreal Photobloggers,
I wanted to personally invite you to a workshop I’m organizing (and attending), thinking you might be interested.
The skinny… As a photographer and storyteller, I’ve noticed the field is in transition. Although where it’ll land is not yet clear, what has become obvious is that new rich media technologies are offering new ways to engage and inspire audiences.
Hence, for a while now, I’ve wanted to take a workshop that would expand and deepen my skill-set in digital-storytelling.
One company doing just that is UK-based duckrabbit. They are an award-winning production/journalism team who combine the power of still images and sound to provoke change. Check them out here: www.duckrabbit.info (take a minute to watch some of their work – it’s pretty awesome).
To get around having to go to England to take a duckrabbit training, I thought of inviting them here instead.
Since I’m organizing AND participating, I’m designing this workshop to be exactly what I’d most want to attend:
- Master Class format - small in participant numbers (max 9 people) and where participants contribute to a generative conversation
- Experiential - meaning we learn by doing, not just listening to an expert
- Highest quality for an affordable price
- Spectacular workshop leader, Benjamin Chesterton, long time BBC reporter
- Inspirationally challenging
Seeking to fill the workshop with the people I’d like to learn alongside, I wanted to these details:
DATE: May 7 – 10, 2011 (May 10 is a bonus day for those who can and want to continue post-processing their work and continue the conversation.)
COST: $700 + taxes
LOCATION: rad’a montreal - 841 rue gilford, Montreal, QC
WEBSITE: www.danielseguin.ca/duckrabbit
If you need more info, please don’t hesitate to visit the workshop website OR to get in touch with me directly. If you think of someone else who might be interested in attending, definitely send them to the website.
Warmly,
Dan
