The National Film Board and Maisonneuve Magazine, and Dawson College are screening Jennifer Baichwal’s award-winning documentary on the photography of Edward Burtynsky, Manufacturing Landscapes on October 24 at 6 pm at Dawson College.

As part of Montreal Matters, The National Film Board is holding a photo competition.

Montreal Matters Photography Competition: “Manufactured Landscapes and Green Oases,”
$ 600 worth in total prizes of selected NFB DVDs to be won and have your photos posted on the NFB website!

What impact do Montrealers have on their city? The National Film Board of Canada invites Montrealers to photograph their environment-both the toxic hotspots and the green oases. Show us the wastelands and hidden corners where industry, development or simple human neglect are taking their toll. Or, show us where eco-initiatives and sound green principles reign. From the polluted waterways and the abandoned factories to the rooftop gardens and the dumpster divers, we want to discover how green Montreal really is.

Send us your environmental photos for a chance to win great prizes and have your work exhibited at a special screening of the award-winning eco-feature Manufactured Landscapes held with Maisonneuve Magazine and Dawson College on October 24 at 6pm at Dawson College.

NFB DVDs on the environment to be won, as well as numerous door prizes at the Manufactured Landscapes screening.
